Thanks | First, we would like to thank you all that joined us and made the TechDays 2017 a real success and most importantly, you who was competing in our “water” competition!
You gave us a challenge and we took it
During the days at TechDays we got a lot of questions if we built something “cool” in Azure that would handle the draw itself? Although we initially intended to run a more old-fashioned method of nameplates with correct answers in a bowl, we felt that this was a challenge we could not leave unmarried.
Jon Jander was therefore given the task of building a “cool” and what he did was building a living space consisting of a series of Azure services that can then communicate in plain text via Teams, Skype etc.
The solution is based on:
Azure Bot service
Azure Bot Service is a highly accessible web API that controls the bottom of the conversation.
Language Understanding Intelligent Service (LUIS)
LUIS is used to interpret user messages and, by means of AI, rewrite text into easy-to-use objects, which can then easily be used to control Bot’s logic.
Azure SQL is used with Entity Framework to easily store the participants information.
For easy deployment, Visual Studio Team Services connects with Azure, and with CI and CD, we get fast delivery from development to production.
One of the most exciting thing with this type of technology is that all the components are incredibly easy to get started with and then build on to be able to create complex solutions. If you are curious about talking about the technology behind the Altitude LotBot or something else around Microsoft Cloud Services and the opportunities it could mean for you and your company, please feel free to contact us.
And so, to the winners of this year’s TechDays competition:
In the movie below you will see Altitude LotBot in action and how the draw of our winners went.
